Chance Conversations Masterclass

This training is for frontline workers in the welfare and specialist

related fields and other related touch-points who

engage men, and survivors of domestic and

family violence.


Aims of the training: 


-Develop skills for frontline workers to be able to

have empowered conversations with men, when

discussing accountability and responsibility for the

use of domestic and family violence behaviours.


-Exploring the experience of men who use

violence through a values-based framework and

examining themes of shame, jealous, blame and

humiliation.


-Building the capacity of front-liner workers to utilise

a values base framework when exploring the

impacts of domestic and family violence with

victim/survivors.


- Enhancing the knowledge of factors leading to

violence and abuse while maintaining sensitivity to

the victim's experience.  Learning practical

strategies to encourage those who commit

violence to take responsibility and be accountable

for their actions.


Duration: 6.5 hours (including morning, lunch and afternoon break)

-Recognising the signs of people that are at

risk or are using violence towards their

partner, and or family

- Understanding the complexities of

Domestic and family violence and those

who have used violence in relationships.
